Former YVEDDI Executive Director Danny resigned on Nov. 7, after a year in the position.

Former Assistant Executive Director Tim Flavin took over the position upon Haire’s resignation and then also resigned on Dec. 10.

Kathy Payne has been appointed acting executive director by the YVEDDI Board of Directors and has been serving in the position since mid-December, according to Jack G. Koontz, chairman of the YVEDDI Board of Directors.

The YVEDDI Board of Directors will be posting the position to find a permanent candidate.

“The executive director position will be posted publicly,” Koontz said. “The Piedmont Triad Regional Council (PTRC) is assisting in the executive director search. YVEDDI hopes to complete the selection process by the end of March.”

In the meantime, Payne and YVEDDI’s finance director, Chris Campbell, will be handling the budgeting for YVEDDI’s 2013 fiscal year. Koontz said that Payne and Campbell will be preparing the budget with input and assistance from program directors and the YVEDDI board.

Koontz said that YVEDDI’s clients and services would experience no change.

“YVEDDI is very fortunate to have dedicated and capable directors and staff,” Koontz said. “YVEDDI’s mission to help others in need remains the focus of the agency. Service to those in need continues as before.”
