Ed Gregory of Yadkinville will present a program on his revised list of Yadkin County’s Civil War veterans, Union and Confederate, on April 14 at 2:30 p.m. at the Yadkin County Senior Center.

Gregory’s list includes 1,200 Civil War veterans. It is part of a larger project to list every military veteran from Yadkin County from 1750 to the present day. Only one other county in North Carolina is engaged in a similar project.

Gregory served in the US Navy during the Lebanese Civil War of 1983, when suicide bombers killed 241 US Marines in their barracks in Beirut. He is an active member of the American Legion and the Sons of Confederate Veterans.

The Yadkin County Historical Society sponsors this program, which is free and open to the public.
