Three arrested during ‘Operation Community Impact’

The Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office’s continued “Operation Community Impact” over the weekend resulted in three arrests.

Billy David Joyce, 49, of North Wilkesboro, was charged with driving while impaired and and driving while the license was revoked. Joyce was stopped by police on Highway 21 near Hoots Road in Hamptonville. Joyce was released on a $500 secure bond.

Jesse Eugene Bates, 22, of Glade Valley, and Jeremy Ryan Sherman, 29 of Union Grove, were both charged with possession with intent to manufacture sell and deliver a Scheduled II controlled substance, sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance (Oxymorphone), maintain a drug dwelling (vehicle) and conspiracy to sell and deliver a Scheduled II controlled substance. Bates and Sherman were arrested after officers conducted a narcotics investigation at the Shell Station 7/11 located on Rocky Branch Road in Hamptonville.

Both Bates and Sherman remained in the Yadkin County Detention Center under a $15,000 secure bond.

The investigation is ongoing, and deputies expect more charges to be filed.
