PILOT MOUNTAIN - Starmount was held in check Friday night, falling to East Surry 27-6 in Week Two action in Pilot Mountain.
The Cards jumped out to a 27-0 lead to knock off the Rams a in a battle of 1A powerhouses.
Starmount struggled offensively, only accounting for 166 yards of total offense, with 128 yards coming on the ground.
Trey Bryant rushed for a team-high 43 yards on three carriers and scored the Rams’ lone touchdown on the night. Joe Walker added 28 yards on the ground, while Zach Freed tacked on 23 yards.
Starmount will look to bounce back from a surprising regular-season defeat Friday when defending 2AA State Champion South Iredell comes to Boonville.
