Public notice of sales tax referendum

Yadkin County will have a countywide referendum on sales and use tax on the November 5, 2013 Ballot. There will be Four Town Elections on November 5, 2013.

The County will have Absentee Voting by Mail and One-Stop Early Voting in the Board of Elections Office only for the Sales and Use Tax Referendum. The Written requests for Absentee Ballots will begin on Friday, October 4, 2013 and continuing through October 29, 2013. The “One-Stop” absentee voting will begin on Thursday, October 17, 2013 and end on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.

There will not be any Absentee Voting for the Town Elections. Anyone that lives in the Town and comes to the Office to vote the countywide referendum during Absentee by mail or One-Stop Early Voting, they will only get the Sales Tax Referendum Ballot and will have to go to their Precincts on Election Day to get the ballots with the Town Candidates and in Jonesville their ballot will also have the Alcohol Referendum along with the Candidates.

The Registration books will close on Friday, October 11, 2013, to vote in the November 5, 2013 Elections.

The Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.

Curbside Voting will be the entire time the Polls will be open.

The Elections Office is open, Monday-Friday of each week, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and any questions may be directed to the office at 679-4227.
