EAST BEND — The pace was set pretty quickly during Friday night’s match up between the Forbush Falcons and the South Stokes Sauras, and the Sauras were the ones driving the pace car.
The fast-paced game kept the Falcons on their toes, but the Sauras won out in the end, with a final score of 61-56.
South Stokes basketball Coach Jason Clark shouted plays and commands at his players nearly non-stop throughout the game.
Though Forbush Coach Jeff Weisner was much quieter in his demeanor, his team found its wings as the first quarter came to a close, leaving them trailing by only three points. In the second quarter, the Falcons took the lead and the two teams began to match each other basket for basket.
But the Falcons just couldn’t keep pace with the speedy Sauras and were edged out of a win by five points.
At press time, Weisner was unavailable for comment.
