YADKINVILLE – The Salvation Army is having a free clothing give-away event for people who live in Yadkin County on Saturday, March 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Family Life Center of Yadkinville United Methodist Church, located at 204 West Main Street.
The give-away is open to anyone who lives in Yadkin County. The clothing will be available on a first come, first served basis. There will be a limit of 3 to 5 articles of clothing for each member of a household. Volunteers from the community will be helping with the event.
“We see this as another opportunity for The Salvation Army to reach out and help our neighbors in need,” said Major James Allison, Area Commander for The Salvation Army. “We hope those who have a need for clothing for their families or themselves will take advantage of this free event.”
The Salvation Army provides emergency financial assistance for rent, mortgages and utilities to people living in Yadkin County. Last year The Salvation Army helped 97 families in Yadkin County with emergency assistance. The Salvation Army is also the primary provider of Christmas assistance to Yadkin County residents.
