DOBSON — The Surry Community College Student Government Association (SGA) is making plans for the annual Eggstravaganza to be held on Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on the campus at 630 S. Main St., Dobson. The egg hunt and organized games for children will take place outside the Knights’ Grill on the patio and around the Betty Kay Vaughn Clock Tower. The event is free, and the public is welcome.
Activities from the SGA students will include a variety of games such as bunny ear toss, bunny ring toss, a sack race, tattoo station, and much more. Students are also collecting door prizes and will be selling door prize tickets to raise money for the March of Dimes. In addition to the egg hunt and games, there will also be a DJ and two bounce houses. Pizza and drinks will be available for purchase.
The egg hunt will be divided into three age groups: four and under; kindergarten to second grade; and third to fifth grade. To help parents with children in different age groups, the egg hunts will be conducted individually, with the youngest age groups going first. All of the eggs will contain a prize, but there will be 12 lucky eggs that contain special prizes. The Easter Bunny will also be available for hugs and photos.
