Yadkin Christian Ministries receives $20,000 grant

YADKINVILLE — A local ministry recently got a big boost to its bank account that will help in providing food for needy Yadkin County families. At the annual BeautiControl Convention, held in Dallas, Texas, Yadkin Christian Ministries (YCM) was awarded a $20,000 grant thanks to the efforts of Yadkinville consultant and YCM volunteer, Ruth Henderson.“That’s going to buy a lot of groceries for the hungry people,” Henderson said. “This money is going to be used to touch the lives of a lot women, children and families who need it.”

 

Yadkin County team wins Babe Ruth state championship

The Yadkin County 14-year-old all-stars won the 2014 Babe Ruth State Tournament.The team competed in the state tournament in Union County from July 17 to 23. The team finished the tournament by beating Union County for the championship on July 23.
