Colby Martin has joined the North Carolina Community Foundation as a regional director for the northwestern region, according to Sally Migliore, director of community leadership.
Martin has management responsibilities for NCCF’s affiliate foundations in Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Alexander, Caldwell, Catawba, Watauga, Wilkes and Yadkin counties. He develops and supports the boards’ work to grow philanthropy, build endowments and administer local grantmaking in their counties. NCCF has eight regional directors who oversee affiliate activities in regions that directly serve 67 counties in the state.
Martin comes to NCCF with extensive experience in grants, compliance and nonprofit management. He has served on a variety of nonprofit boards and local government task forces doing work in health, the arts and economic development. He earned his masters of business administration (MBA) at Appalachian State University where he also attended for undergraduate studies.
“We are delighted to have someone with Colby’s nonprofit experience both as staff and as a board member join the NCCF team,” said Migliore.
