On Monday, the Yadkin County commissioners set dates for two public hearings. The first is regarding the NC Fire Prevention Code Ordinance and that hearing is slated for Oct. 3 at 9 a.m. A public hearing on the 2017 Reappraisal Schedule of Values has been set for Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. A copy of the Schedule of Values Manual will be available in the Tax Office for viewing and there will be one in the County Manager’s Office.
During the meeting, the board approved an NC Emergency Management Performance Grant as well as a letter of intent to apply for an economic development grant from the Golden LEAF Foundation.
Also approved at the meeting were the legislative goals for the 2016-17 fiscal year. Those goals include seeking legislation to restore funding for local health departments accreditation and legislation to provide calendar flexibility to individual school districts and community colleges.
