The Board of Advisors of the Yadkin County Community Foundation (YCCF) announces its 2014 grant awards from the Yadkin County Legacy Fund. According to Bonnie Lasky, chair of the Grants Committee, the YCCF awarded four grants totaling $3,400 through a competitive selection process.

This year’s nonprofit recipients include:

• Fall Creek Elementary School: $500 for the Firm Foundation for Literacy Project

• Hands of Hope Medical Clinic: $1,200 for General Operating Support

• Yadkin Christian Ministries: $1,200 for General Operating Support

• Yadkin County Humane Society: $500 for the Spay Day Project

Lasky thanked the community for its support of the Yadkin County Community Foundation.

“Thanks to the generosity of this community, we have more than doubled the size of the Yadkin County Legacy Fund since 2010. The YCCF Board has set a goal of reaching the $100,000 threshold this year,” she said. “The Yadkin County Legacy Fund is a permanent source of support for our local nonprofits. We are building resources for Yadkin County’s future.”
