YADKINVILLE — Yadtel Telecom recently donated $1,000 to Yadkin County Schools to help launch a new summer robotics camp for elementary students. Yadkin County Schools Superintendent Dr. Todd Martin accepted the gift from Yadtel’s Marketing Director Dusty Ball.
“This generous donation from Yadtel will go a long way to help get this camp up and running,” Martin said.
The camp is intended to aid students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education and ties in with the school system’s LEGO Robotics program begun in 2015.
“This is a way to keep students’ minds active during the summer months while giving them STEM experience,” added Martin.
Camp details, including dates and locations, are still being finalized and parents will be notified of these before the end of the school year via flyers and phone messages.
Martin foresees a five-day camp with morning and afternoon sessions. The cost per student is estimated to be at least $150 and donations such at Yadtel’s will help to defray these costs for families that need assistance.
