The 2013 National Senior Games were held the weekend of July 20 in Cleveland, Ohio, and two players from Yadkin County went home with gold medals. The Winston-Salem Wannabees competed in the 60+ Division of the women's softball portion of the games, defeating rival teams from Canada, Connecticut, New Mexico, Ohio and Texas to win first place and become the national champions. The team consists of women from Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Stokes and Yadkin counties.
