April 10

• 7 p.m., the Mars Hill University Chamber Singers will be performing at Sandy Springs Baptist Church on April 10 at 7 p.m. This is a free event. They are directed by Dr. Ciavaglia and will be on tour in the area. Two of the students are local: Courtney Kiser (Forbush High School) and Brett Pardue (Elkin High School). • 10 a.m., Lighthouse Missonary Baptist Church on Austin Traphill Road revival begins Sunday. Sunday through Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. services with guest speaker Brother Larry Adams and special singing each service.


April 16

• Yadkin County Ecumenical Lenten Worship and Lunch, Bread for the Journey at Yadkinville UMC, 204 W. Main St., Yadkinville. April 16, the Rev. Oliver Helsabeck, Yadkinville UMC. Lunch will not be served on April 16, instead you are invited to participate in the interactive stations of the cross set up by the Family Life Center.


April 18

• 8 a.m. to noon, Peace Haven Baptist Children/Teen Clothing Exchange. Fifty percent of all proceeds go to PHBC Missions.

• “Basic Christian Beliefs” class to Begin Jan. 5, 2014, at First Baptist, Yadkinville What do Christians believe about the Bible? Salvation? Prayer? The “Trinity”? The Environment? Other Faiths? Stewardship? Faith and Science? Social issues (abortion, homosexuality, war, immigration, capital punishment, healthcare, etc.)? Join Pastor Ken Boaz and the congregation of First Baptist Church, Yadkinville as we explore these and other topics for a better understanding of our faith. You are invited to share with us in the church fellowship hall for refreshments at 9: 45 AM and the class begins at 10 AM, concluding at 10: 40 AM. Classes will begin Sunday, January 5, 2014 and follow the same schedule each Sunday afterward. Class is for all ages in a casual relaxed atmosphere. • The New Birth Worship Center (NBWC) Missionary Society is excited to announce that they have started a winter coat drive. Anyone in need of a coat for the winter is welcome to drop by and pick a coat from THE COAT CLOSET on 1st Saturdays from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM and 2nd Wednesdays from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM each month. In addition, Zumba Fitness classes are held each Friday from 6-7 PM in the Fellowship Hall for a $2.00 love donation. (Farrah Bridges is the instructor.)
