Nature In Oils


Grant Hacking


Nature in Oils features masterful oils of the South African landscape and wildlife by the acclaimed nature artist Grant Hacking of New Hampshire.


Viewing hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closed Sunday.


The Yadkin Cultural Arts Center is located at 226 E. Main Street in Yadkinville.


Willingham Theater

The 193-seat state-of-the-art theater offers live music, drama, dance performances, community theater and children’s theater. The theater meets ADA requirements. It is equipped with assisted listening devices for the hearing impaired and special seating for people in wheelchairs.

UNCSA Jazz Ensemble

The golden age of big band jazz produced some of the most toe-tapping music in history and announced that American culture had arrived. Enjoy icons like Duke Ellington and Bennie Goodman as the UNCSA jazz ensemble recreates the excitement of the 1930s and 40s. Wear your dancing shoes!

UNCSA Black Box production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night

This blackbox production by UNCSA students brings Shakespeare’s comedic tale of gender-confusion and mistaken identity to life with limited costumes and set but an abundance of talent.

A modern dance extravaganza with film clips of the famous – think Gene Kelly and Fred Astairs – and amazing solo dance performances by the lithe and limber UNCSA dance majors.

Join the Yadkin Arts Council in celebration of International Star Wars Day! There will be out of this world arts and crafts, stellar activities and appearances by Bobba Fett, Stormtroopers and more courtesy of the Mandalorian Mercs! All of this followed by a FREE screening of the original Star Wars in the Willingham Theater.

Like their namesake heirloom apple variety, Red June has strong roots in the Appalachian tradition while constantly forging new ground in American music. Red June is a powerful acoustic trio from Asheville, North Carolina performing beautifully distilled original American music. Red June is Will Straughan on resonator guitar, guitar and vocals, John Cloyd Miller on mandolin, guitar and vocals, and Natalya Weinstein on fiddle and vocals.

Workshops:


Beginner’s Mosaics – Jody Pounds


Cost: $75 – all tools and supplies included


Learn the wonderful art of mosaics. This can be started at any time – I work with your schedule. You need to plan on 5 or 6 2-hour sessions, but it depends on the speed at which you work. When finished you will have a 12” x 12” mosaic you will be proud to call your own.

Age Limit: 18+ unless accompanied by an adult
