Two charged in unrelated theft cases

On Dec. 2, the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office arrested Amanda Lilly Simmons, 35, of Yadkinville, and charged her with one felony count of larceny of a motor vehicle and one misdemeanor of injury to personal property.

On the same day, the sheriff’s office was called out to a residence on Wyo Road, regarding a stolen pickup truck. Simmons was a friend of the victim and allegedly took the vehicle without permission. The vehicle was found later with damage to its front end.

Simmons was given a secured $1,500 bond with a court date of Dec. 7.

Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office arrested Christopher Austin Meyer, 25, of State Road, on Dec. 3 and charged him with one felony count of attempted first-degree burglary and one misdemeanor of second-degree trespassing.

The victim called the sheriff’s office in the early morning hours of Dec. 3 and reported an unknown person trying to enter her residence. With the help of Jonesville Police Department, Meyer was apprehended in the yard of the victim.

Meyer was given a secured $2,500 bond with a court date of Dec. 20.
