On May 3, the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office was notified that a stolen vehicle from Surry County was spotted at the Hamptonville Dollar General. Cody Grant Groce, 29, of Hamptonville, was apprehended in the vehicle and was found to have drug paraphernalia and a fictitious tag, according a release from the sheriff’s office.
Groce was charged with one count of felony possession stolen motor vehicle, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of fictitious registration plate. Groce also was served with an outstanding order for arrest for failure to appear in court on April 18 for previous drug charges.
His court date is May 8. He was given a cash bond on the failure to appear charges and a $20,000 secured bond for the current charges.
