Lewisville man charged in robbery case

A Lewisville man has been charged after officers allege he robbed Yadkinville residents.

On Aug. 15, the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a robbery that had occurred on Old Stage Road, Yadkinville. The offender had arrived at the house and asked to use the phone saying his wife was sick. After gaining entry to the house, the offender grabbed the victim’s wallet by assaulting the victim and ran from the house, leaving in a vehicle. After an investigation, the victim was able to identify the suspect and vehicle.

Christian Thomas Messick, 24, of Lewisville, was arrested Aug. 17 by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and charged with one count of felony obtaining property by false pretenses, one count of felony common law robbery and one count of misdemeanor larceny.

He was given a secured $10,000 bond with a court date of Sept. 13.
