JONESVILLE — Windows and doors were boarded up this week at a local consignment shop damaged by fire on Friday.

Arlington Fire and Rescue responded to the call around 9:30 p.m., according to Fire Chief Kevin Macemore.

Elkin, Boonville and West Yadkin fire departments and the Yadkin Rescue Squad also responded to the scene.

No one was inside the building at the time at the fire. An investigation into the cause of the blaze is still ongoing, but Macemore said it was most likely an electrical fire.

The building, located at 238 N. Bridge St., is owned by Rajni Patel, according to Yadkin County tax records. Issy Hinshaw operates a consignment shop in the space. Neither Patel or Hinshaw were available for comment at press time.

Macemore said the fire caused an estimated $60,000 to $80,000 worth of damage.
