BOONVILLE — On Saturday, Boonville residents will get a chance to celebrate and mingle with their neighbors at the “Spring into Summer” bash hosted in downtown Boonville from 1 to 8p.m. by the town and the Boonville Business and Downtown Development Association, Inc.
“It’s going to be super,” said Tom Bastable of the Boonville Business Association. “We are really looking forward to it. It will be a great community event for the residents and surrounding areas.”
The event will kick-off with music from Paid For, a contemporary gospel group. Sweet Hollow Bluegrass band and up and coming country singer Nikki Fellows also will perform. The evening will come to a close with beach, R&B and dance music by Phatt City.
Vendors will be on site during the event featuring a wide of variety of items for purchase from jewelry to fresh organic produce, candles, homemade ice cream and more.
Local authors Sarah Martin Byrd and C.A. Stevens will be in front of the Boonville Public Library showcasing and autographing copies of their books.
Bastable said the event will feature a number of activities for children, as well, including a bounce house, face painting and activities hosted by the Boonville Fire Department and the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office.
In addition to providing a fun community gathering for Boonville residents, Bastable said the group will be holding a 50/50 raffle to help raise funds for improvements to Boonville’s park.
The gathering also aims to promote local businesses and attendees are invited to enjoy lunch or dinner at some of the local restaurants, which includes Veracruz Mexican restaurant, Wood Box barbecue, MidTown Grill with pizza and chicken, Boonville Restaurant, featuring home cooked foods and fine dining at Sanders Ridge Winery.
Bastable said the mission of the Boonville Business and Downtown Development Association, Inc. is “to promote historic preservation, stimulate economic growth and improve the quality of life for the greater Boonville community” and that the members “look forward to seeing you for a beautiful day of music and fun.”
