Three Yadkinville residents were arrested following nearly two months of avoiding the law, according to an Aug. 22 press release with the Yadkin County Sheriff’s office.
Officers arrested Luther Jefferson Blevins, Jr., 24, of Yadkinville on a felony charge of obtaining property by false pretense and a felony count of conspire to obtain property by false pretense.
His secured bond was set at $10,000.
Trista Michelle Whitaker, 29, of Yadkinville was arrested and charged with one felony count of conspire to obtain property by false pretense.
Her secured bond was set at $5,000.
Sandy Lee Matthews, 21, of Yadkinville was arrested and charged with one felony count of conspire to obtain property by false pretenses.
Her secured bond was also set at $5,000.
The three suspects were allegedly spotted on a surveillance camera July 5, 2013 shoplifting tires from the Walmart on Kester Road in Winston-Salem.
Cameras caught three people walking away with a buggy filled with tires but the thieves could not be positively identified.
Ripple news partner WXII and the Winston-Salem Police Department requested help in identifying the subjects.
The Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crime in conjunction with Winston officers and found the tires had been sold to a local Yadkin merchant.
