YADKINVILLE — There will be a Beef Producers Meeting for Davie and Yadkin counties Tuesday.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Deep Creek Friends Church in Yadkinville.

Dr. Gary Hansen from N.C. State will be on hand to discuss heifer development programs to help produce the best replacement females to go back into the herd.

This program will help educate producers how to improve the genetic make-up of their herd to help improve calf crop and the bottom line of the operation.

“We all want to get as much out of our cattle as we can, but without quality genetics and replacement heifers, that is difficult to achieve,” county Extension Agent Phil Rucker said. “So come join us as we discuss ways to help you develop quality heifers to improve the genetic make-up of your beef herd.”

There will be a sponsored meal and reservations are needed.

Call the Extension Center at 679-2061 no later than noon Friday to reserve a meal or for more information.
