Forbush 8, South Stokes 2: In Walnut Cove, Barrett Hennings went 3-for-4 with three doubles and three RBI as the Falcons defeated South Stokes.
“We had a very solid team effort tonight,” Forbush Coach Denny Key wrote after the game. “Everyone made the plays they were supposed to make and did their jobs very well.”
Forbush exploded for five runs in the fourth inning to break the game open. Jared Williams went 2-for-3 with two runs scored for the Falcons.
Mason Doub went five innings, allowing four hits, two earned runs, walking four, and striking out five. Brett Fulk and Brad Dzeskewicz came on to combine for two hitless innings in relief.
Starmount 11, Alleghany 7: In Sparta, Garrett Stokes went 4-for-5 with four doubles and three RBI as Starmount defeated Alleghany.
Cody Whitaker and Luke Shore also went 4-for-5 as the Rams collected 19 hits. Whitaker had two RBI, while Shore had one.
West Stokes 9, Forbush 2: In East Bend, the Wildcats rallied from an early deficit to defeat the Falcons.
“We fell behind 3-2 in the top of the fourth and pretty much gave up,” Forbush Coach Denny Key said. “We stopped doing the smart things and making the routine plays necessary for winning a ball game.”
Barrett Hennings is leading the Falcons at the plate this season. Hennings, who is hitting .423, leads the team in doubles with six and RBI with 13.
Surry Central 7, Starmount 6, 8 inn.: In Dobson, Kaden Leonard held Starmount to one hit over the last three innings as Surry Central defeated Starmount.
Cole Fowler went 2-for-5 with an RBI to pace the Golden Eagles at the plate.
Surry Central, with their fourth straight win, is now 7-4 overall and 3-0 in the conference. Starmount fell to 5-9 and 3-3.
The Rams were at East Wilkes last night. They play at North Wilkes Friday.

Starmount 9, Alleghany 7: In Sparta, Amber Fernando and Olivia Greene each had three hits as the Rams held on to defeat the Spartans.
Fernando went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, while Greene went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Alli Jones, Morgan Brown, and Ashley Johnson each added two hits for the Rams. Christy Reavis drove in two runs.
Starmount led 9-1 going into the bottom of the seventh. Greene, the starting pitcher, allowed only two hits through six innings before walking two batters to start the seventh.
South Stokes 5, Forbush 4: In East Bend, Forbush Coach Rachel Davis said her team “struggled throughout the game hitting” as the Falcons fell to the Saurus.
Trailing 5-3 entering the bottom of the seventh, the Falcons cut it to 5-4 and had the bases loaded before losing. “It was too little, too late,” Davis said.
