Local Historian Marion Venable will speak about WWI United States Army General Henry Wolfe Butner, born in the Shoals Community in Surry County, NC. He was the commanding officer at Fort Bragg from 1928-29 and Camp Butner, a US Army installation in WWII, was named after General Butner. History Talks are Free to the public and are held at 2pm in the Museum Conference Room.
