Gregory Ray Collins, 44, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born June 6, 1967 in Yadkin County.

He graduated from UNC Ashville with a double major. Greg was known to be very adventurous and loved to travel the country.

He also loved to sing and was an actor in several movies. Greg had a heart of gold and would give his last dime to anyone. Surviving are his father, Donald Ray (Jeannie) Collins and mother, Ledean (Bobby) Collins Childress; brothers, Marty (Ashley) Collins, Josh (Carrie) Collins; special niece and nephew, Kylie and Luke Collins; step-sisters, Erica (Rodney) Shore, Melinda Payne; step-brothers, Shaun (Danielle) Stanley, Mark (Kim) Childress; Aunts, Hellon (Bernays) White, Mary (Paul) Holland, Norma (Don) Poindexter.

His memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church by the Rev. James Pardue. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
