MORAVIAN FALLS -- Forbush High’s junior varsity girls basketball team improved to 12-0 on Tuesday night with a 42-38 overtime win at Wilkes Central.
Lindsey York led the JV Falcons in scoring with 16 points. Tatum Taylor added 11. Madison Gentry, Crimsyn Ely and Conesia Conner each scored four points, while Leighann Waldroup provided the final three points.
Taylor netted five points in the OT period, helping the Falcons outscore the Eagles 8-4.
Forbush led 23-21 at the half and 33-27 after three periods. Despite losing a six-point lead in the final period, the Falcons were able to regroup in the extra frame.
The Falcons will put their unbeaten record on the line Thursday night at Starmount. This will be the first meeting of the season between the Yadkin rivals.
