Marvin Gilbert Hobson, age 96, of Spencer, NC passed away on Friday August 17th, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.

Mr. Hobson was born in Yadkin County to the late Charles Gurney Hobson and Nancy Groce Hobson.

Mr. Hobson was a WWII veteran, worked for Duke Power as a meter superintendent, and was a member of East Bend Friends Meeting.

Those left to cherish his memory are two sons, Gil Hobson (Brenda) of Pfafftown and Eddy Snow of Salisbury, five grandchildren Gib Hobson, Wes Hobson, Kassy Hobson, Lee Snow (Betsy), and Adria Troyan ( Major Joe), and two great grandchildren Caroline Snow and Caylee Snow.

In addition to his parents Mr. Hobson was preceded in death by his wife Patti Bowman Hobson and his daughter Elizabeth Mascareno and seven sisters and one brother.

Funeral services for Mr. Hobson were conducted on Monday August 20th, 2012 at 11am at Huff Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Bobby Choplin officiating. Burial followed in the East Bend Friends Cemetery with military rites by Hamptonville VFW Post 10346. Memorials may be made to East Bend Friends Meeting at 128 Quaker Ave. East Bend, NC 27018.
