Mr. Gary Lee Cave, 61, of Boonville, a loving and devoted husband, father, son, grandfather, and friend to many, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday April 19, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. 

Mr. Cave was born March 10, 1948 in Forsyth County to Rufus and Pauline Webb Cave. 

He was a 1966 graduate of Boonville High School. 

Mr. Cave was the owner and operator, for the past 40 years of Boonville Barber Shop; was a town commissioner in Boonville for eight years; a faithful and active member of Boonville Baptist Church; and loved being on the Starmount High School Football Team “Chain Gang” for several years. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Cave, in 2002.  On April 12, 2009, Easter Sunday, he cherished and celebrated 40 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Sharon Adams Cave, who survives, of the home. 

Also surviving are his daughter, Angela (Steven) Cave-Walker of Jonesville; a son, Eric (Stephanie) Cave of East Bend; grandchildren, Ragan Victoria Cave, Nickalus Steven Walker, and Camden Zachary Cave; his mother, Pauline Webb Cave, of Boonville; brother, Steve (Phyllis) Cave of Boonville; nieces, Stephanie (Jody) Christopherson, Lisa Adams (John) Passyn, and Kimberly Adams (Neal) McArthur; nephews, Mitchell Cave, and Jeffrey (Tracy) Adams; brother-in-law, Michael (Billie) Adams; and several aunts, uncles, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends. 

The family will receive friends from 6 - 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22 at Gentry Family Funeral Service, 5108 U.S. 601 in Yadkinville. 

His funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today, April 23, at Boonville Baptist Church by the Rev. Ken Boaz. 

Burial will follow in the Boonville Cemetery. 

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Capital Campaign Building Fund, C/O Boonville Baptist Church, PO Box 429 Boonville, NC  27011. 

The family would like to express their gratitude to the exceptional nurses, staff and physicians of the 4-B and 6-C Intensive Care Units at WFU Baptist Medical Center for all the loving care given to Gary during his illness.
