Officers with the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office made additional charges April 10 against suspects previously arrested.
Officers arrested Vandi Wheeler Powell and Maggie Smith Swaim on March 29 and charged them with breaking and entering and larceny.
After investigating several more break-ins, detectives determined that Powell and Swaim are responsible for those break-ins as well. Detectives state that Powell and Swaim are responsible for three additional break-ins, and three additional larcenies.
Vandi Wheeler Powell, 31, of Boonville is charged with conspire to breaking and entering to commit felony larceny, breaking and entering, and larceny. Powell was released from the Yadkin County Detention Center under a $12,500 secure bond.
Maggie Smith Swaim, 26, of Elkin was arrested and charged with three counts of breaking and entering, three counts of larceny, conspire to breaking and entering to commit felony larceny, and criminal damage to property. Swaim was released from the Yadkin County Detention Center under a $12,500 secure bond.
Both subjects are scheduled to appear in the Yadkin County District Court on April 17.
