William “Roger” Hutchens, 76, of US Hwy 601 N, Mocksville, died Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Born in Forsyth County, NC on September 4, 1935, he was the son of the late Edgar Bonson and Eula Shore Hutchens. He retired from Baker Furniture in 1997 and was a member of Turrentine Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by wife, Shelby J. Allen Hutchens.
Survivors include son, William “Gary” Hutchens, of Mocksville, daughter, Kathy Jean Hutchens of Charlotte, brothers, Richard (Marie) Hutchens, Stevie (Susan) Hutchens, sister, Shirley (Johnny Ray) Carter, all of Yadkinville; granddaughter, Christine Renee Hutchens, of Mocksville. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brother, Eddie Hutchens, sister, Linda Taylor, and grandson, William Bryan Hutchens.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on, Wednesday, August 1, at 11:00 a.m. in the Davie Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Scott Schuyler officiating. Burial will be in Turrentine Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Tuesday, July 31, at the funeral home.
