Yadkin County has announced that Michael Poston has accepted the position of Director of Services and Development.
Poston will start on June 1, after serving the past four and a half years as a planner in Catawba County. During this time his responsibilities included subdivision review coordination, short and long range planning studies, interpreting the zoning ordinance and processing board of adjustment applications.
Prior to serving in Catawba County he served as the planning director of the Village of Whispering Pines. Poston has obtained his planning certification through the American Institute of Certified Planners and is a member of the American Planning Association.
Originally from West Palm Beach, Florida, Poston holds a bachelor of science degree in political science and communications and a master of public affairs degree from Western Carolina University.
He is married to his wife, Lori, and has two children. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, running and other outdoor activities.
