Yadkin County School System will offer Christmas cards designed by local students to residents this year.

The idea was presented by Yadkin County Schools Superintendent Stewart Hobbs who has seen the program done successfully at schools he’s worked at before.

Art teachers at each school in the county were asked to have students create a piece of artwork to be entered in the contest. Each art teacher was asked to pick one student from each school whose art would be represented on a Christmas card.

The contest winners are:

Kayla Vanhoy, a sixth grader at Boonville Elementary

Dharma Jennings, a third grader at Courtney Elementary

Cathryn Prim, a sixth grader at East Bend Elementary

Octavio Joaquin, a second grader at Fall Creek Elementary

Terra Hedgecock, a sixth grader at Forbush Elementary

Madelyn Pianpanya, an eighth grader at Forbush Middle

Madison Haynes, a ninth grader at Forbush High School

Kaitlynn Blackburn, a sixth grader at Jonesville Elementary

Shea Triplett, a seventh grader at Starmount Middle

Lauren Creed, a ninth grader at Starmount High

Arianna Kenyon, a ninth grader at Starmount High

Melia Mosteller, a third grader at West Yadkin Elementary

Emmanuel Jaimet, a 10th grader at Yadkin Early College

Sheridan Siemers, a fifth grader at Yadkin Success Academy

Jonah Pendergrass, a sixth grader at Yadkinville Elementary

Christmas cards come with 15 cards and envelopes and are $6 per pack. The cards can be personalized with your family’s or businesses name.

Cards can be purchased at the Yadkin County School offices located at 121 Washington Street in Yadkinville. For further questions or to place an order for your cards call 679-2051.
