Piedmont Realty and Management Group, LLC has taken the reigns from Garrison Realty in Yadkinville.

Roxanne Buck, a 13-year employee at Garrison Realty, grabbed the opportunity to take over the real estate location when Gary Garrison decided to sell in fall 2012.

“I have been broker in charge of Garrison Realty since the 2009 death of Mrs. Garrison who started the business in 1970,” Buck said. “The ownership went to Gray but he could not be broker. Gary focused more on the construction part of the business and I ran the residential part.”

Buck said that she had considered venturing out on her own for quite some time but she was never able to create a financial plan that gave her the results she was looking for.

“I decided to put my plans on hold and continue to work towards it later on,” Buck said. “Then when this opportunity came up I thought ‘here is my chance and I would be a fool not to take this opportunity’. I never want to say later on what if.”

Buck was able to maintain the agency’s location however she could not continue to operate under Garrison Realty as the name was a proprietorship and she would be forced to change the company’s dealings.

She opted to change the name to Piedmont Realty and Management Group, LLC and the rest of the business has not ventured far from the original.

Buck said that she has made some expansion by venturing outside of the county.

“Garrison Realty was only doing Yadkin County and the outskirts of the county but I have moved on into Surry, Forsyth, Davie, Wilkes and Iredell Counties,” Buck said.

Buck said that Piedmont Realty does property management for residential and commercial owners and that they manage three small apartment complexes in the county.

“Real estate sales have been picking up since August of last year,” Buck said. “I have been really busy. We had a few bumps in the beginning but I’m really just trying to get the name back out there and let people know that we’re still here and we’re still offering the same services that were here many, many years ago.”

Buck feels that her agency can offer Yadkin residents and those who are looking for property in the Yadkin area a more attentive and educated agent than an agency in Winston-Salem could offer.

“I feel like we can do the same if not better service than what Winston-Salem agents can offer,” Buck said. “They are listing properties in Yadkin County but those agents are not as accessible as an agent that lives and works in Yadkin County.”

Buck said that Piedmont Realty currently employs two part-time agents but she would like to hire another agent to work full-time or an agent who could work part-time but has a very flexible schedule.

In the meantime, Buck is focusing on raising awareness of the agency and venturing further into commercial sales and management.

“We are definitely always looking for new clients to take on,” Buck said. “We are especially interested in customers who have rental property that we can manage for them. I am confident that we could cut them a pretty good rate.”

Piedmont Realty offers services to buy, list, sell, rent or referrals. The agency is a member of Multiple List Service.

Piedmont Realty can be contacted by calling 336-679-2007 or by visiting their website at www.piedmontrealty.net.
