Narcotics detectives with the Yadkinville Police Department and the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office began surveillance on Sept. 14 on alleged drug dealers, according to a police department incident report.

The surveillance led to a vehicle stop, which resulted in several drug and weapons charges.

The vehicle was stopped in the parking lot area of Oakwood Apartments in Yadkinville, and a search resulted in the seizure of crack cocaine, marijuana, prescription drugs and a .45 caliber handgun.

Keith Maxwell Flowers of 101 Oakwood Drive, Plaza Apartments, apartment #9, Yadkinville, was charged, according to the report. Flowers was charged with assault with a deadly weapon on government official, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, resisting arrest, carrying a concealed weapon, conspiracy to sell marijuana, possession with the intent to deliver crack cocaine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, felony possession of crack cocaine and conspiracy to deliver crack cocaine, according to the report.

Also arrested was Kristian Nicole McDaniel of 524 Carolina Avenue in Yadkinville, according to the report.

McDaniel was arrested and charged with conspiracy to deliver marijuana and conspiracy to deliver crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintain a drug vehicle, possession of marijuana, possession of hydrocodone and two counts of child abuse.

The child abuse charges are a result of McDaniel having her two small children in the vehicle during the criminal violations.

Another suspect, Latasha Sue Donaldson of 529 Peach Street in Yadkinville, was charged with drug paraphernalia on a citation and released.

A later search of Flowers’ residence, located at The Plaza Apartments, resulted in the seizure of one and a half pounds of marijuana and a 12 gauge shotgun.

Flowers was placed under a $275,000 secured bond, and McDaniel was placed under a $25,000 secured bond.
