Yadkin County residents will join other North Carolinians on Tuesday, May 8 in heading to the polls to choose their party’s nominee.
Lines will form at the polls to decide what candidates will be on the ballot come this November.
Yadkin County will have 12 precincts where voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballots. Voters can visit yadkincountync.gov and go to Board of Elections under departments to learn where their designated voting precinct is.
Polling stations will be open to voters from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on election day. Curbside voting will be available the entire time the polls are open.
Below is a list of the candidates’ names that will appear on the ballots on May 8:

Voters will also be given the opportunity to vote on a constitutional amendment known as amendment one. The amendment will appear as follows:
“Constitutional amendment to provide that marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State.”
Voters are given the option to vote for or against.
