On Feb. 4, detectives with the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office were conducting a narcotics investigation into the sale and distribution of crack cocaine and prescription drugs.
The undercover operation was a part of the agency’s “Community Impact” investigation that has been ongoing and first made public Jan. 17.
Detectives received information that a drug transaction was taking place on Wyo Road at the intersection of Davie Road, in the Courtney community on Monday night. Detectives had set up a “sting” operation in order to apprehend the suspects involved.
Detectives and patrol officers attempted to make a vehicle stop near the intersection and the suspect vehicle attempted to flee the scene. The officers gave a brief chase where the suspects wrecked and a short foot pursuit ensued. The suspects were quickly taken into custody. Those arrested include Reginald W. Lyons, 55, of Mocksville, Booker T. Cody Jr., 27, of Yadkinville and Shanna Rose Caudle, 29, of Yadkinville.
Lyons, allegedly the driver of the vehicle, was arrested and charged with felony possession of cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, conspire to sell and deliver cocaine, felony flee to elude and injury to personal property. Lyons is being held in the Yadkin County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond.
Cody, allegedly a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested and charged with felony possession of cocaine, four counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, three counts of sell and deliver crack cocaine, a Schedule II controlled substance, two counts of conspire to sell and deliver cocaine and felony flee to elude. Cody is being held in the Yadkin County Jail under a $150,000 secured bond.
Caudle, was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, four counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver crack cocaine, a Schedule II controlled substance, four counts of sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, conspire to sell and deliver, a Schedule II controlled substance. Caudle is being held in the Yadkin County Jail under a $75,000 secured bond.
Officers seized more than seven grams of crack cocaine, an undisclosed amount of cash and a vehicle. All subjects are scheduled to make a first appearance in court on Feb. 6 in Yadkin County Court.
