A Hamptonville man has been charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder, according to a Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office release.
Patrick Brandon Oliver, Jr., 18, of Hamptonville, was arrested after officers executed a search warrant of his residence located on Old Hwy 421 West in Hamptonville.
The search warrant was a result of information obtained during an investigation of an assault that occurred at Oliver’s residence in the early morning hours of August 13, according to a sheriff’s office report.
According to the release, a Yadkinville resident and an Elkin resident both sustained injuries from gun shots that reportedly were fired into an occupied vehicle.
According to warrants, there was a confrontation at Oliver’s residence that escalated into shots being fired by Oliver. Oliver was arrested by detectives with the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office and Yadkinville Police Department on August 14, 2012 at his residence.
According to warrants, Oliver is charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, discharging a barreled weapon into an occupied motor conveyance, possession with intent to manufacture sell and deliver (PWIMSD) a schedule I controlled substance, MDMA (Ecstasy), felony possession of a schedule I controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture sell and deliver a schedule III controlled substance, three counts of possession with intent to manufacture sell and deliver of a schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony maintain a drug dwelling.
Oliver is currently being held in the Yadkin County Detention Center under a $1 million secured bond.
