D & J Galaxy grocery store in Boonville was transformed into a set of a movie filming in North Carolina titled “You Are Here.”

The film stars Zach Galifianakis, Amy Poehler and Owen Wilson.

D & J Galaxy closed up early at 4 p.m. on June 28 in order for the crew of the film to begin setting up. The front of the store was tarped off from the public’s view, and the parking lot was cleared. Hayes Avenue which runs alongside the grocery store into a residential area was closed off to everyone but film crew members and traffic was detoured down various other side streets.

Onlookers started congregating along Hayes Avenue and Highway 67 at about 4:30 p.m. in hopes of catching a glimpse of the stars. The entire Boonville Police Department was on site to help ensure the safety of onlookers and the security of the set.

Film crew members began taking down the tarps at about 8 p.m. and crew and cast members migrated to the parking lot to film what will be the last scene of the film. Galifianakis was on set along with Jenna Fischer (star of the television show “The Office”).

The crew also set up a several cranes around the set to create the desired lighting for the scene as well as cranes that held a sprinkler system to create the effect of rain. Onlookers were asked to migrate across the street and stand alongside Highway 67 while the rain scenes were filmed.

All shooting was wrapped and the site was cleaned and ready for regular business again on June 29.
