Detectives with the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office on April 19 arrested Keith Payne, 62, of Hamptonville on seven counts of felony obtaining property by false pretenses.
Payne, the business owner of Hawks Will Custom Woodworks, was obtaining funds through an online business website without producing the items listed for sale, according to a sheriff’s office press release.
Payne was released on a $15,000 unsecured bond. Detectives would like to warn the public to research online businesses prior to making purchases due to several fraudulent businesses online.
