Yadkin County School System will offer Christmas cards designed by local students to residents this year.
The idea was presented by Yadkin County Schools Superintendent Stewart Hobbs who has seen the program done successfully at schools he’s worked at before.
Art teachers at each school in the county were asked to have students create a piece of artwork to be entered in the contest. Each art teacher was asked to pick one student from each school whose art would be represented on a Christmas card.
The contest winners are:
Kayla Vanhoy, a sixth grader at Boonville Elementary
Dharma Jennings, a third grader at Courtney Elementary
Cathryn Prim, a sixth grader at East Bend Elementary
Octavio Joaquin, a second grader at Fall Creek Elementary
