NCDOT to close lane of I-77 in Yadkin County for pavement improvements

JONESVILLE — Beginning tonight, the N.C. Department of Transportation will work to improve a stretch of Interstate 77 Southbound in Yadkin County south of Jonesville. A lane closure will be in place starting at 7 p.m. from mile markers 73-76 for the pavement repairs.The right lane closure will be in place until Tuesday at 6 a.m. Crews are planning to close the left lane from 7 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday.Motorists are asked to slow down and use caution when traveling in the area.

Prescription drug theft charge made

YADKINVILLE — Stephanie Dawn Wilkins, 38, of Yadkinville, was arrested by Yadkin County Sheriff’s deputies on Sept. 19 and charged with one count felony larceny.Wilkins was at the victim’s residence on Sept. 10, allegedly without the victim’s permission and signed her name for a package that did not belong to her. She allegedly stole the contents of the package, prescribed medications. She was given a $2,000 unsecured bond with a court date of Sept. 24.
