ECU basketball camp scheduled

GREENVILLE — Heather Macy, a Starmount alumnas and current women’s basketball coach at East Carolina University, will be holding summer basketball camps over the month of June. There are different camp levels, as well as team and individual camps.

Team camp: $125 per player, and $125 per additional coach. The team camp will cater to high school freshmen, junior varsity, and varsity teams. Teams will be divided upon competition level. All games will be officiated. There will be sessions on study skills time management, conditioning, strength training, leadership, team building, and nutrition. All games will be played in Minges Coliseum and the Smith-Williams practice facility. Meals are included for overnight teams. Each head coach will be paid $200 to supervise their team in the dorms and during games.

One Day Mini Camp: The mini camp is offered for teams who wish to participate in one or two days of the team camp. Housing and meals are not provided. $125 per player. The camp will take place during the weekend of June 23-25.

Day Camp for ages 5-12: Cost of the camp is $235 per person. Registering before May 15 brings the price down to $225. The summer camp is a fun way to kick off the summer. The camp is designed for entry level young girls who want to learn basic principals of basketball. The ECU coaching staff and players have an exciting week of activities planned for the campers. Lunch and prizes are included. Early drop-off starts at 7:30 a.m. and late pick-up lasts until 5 p.m.

Elite Camp: One day camps on June 19, 20, 21, and Aug. 26. $65 for each camp or $200 for all for camps. The Elite Camp is designed for experienced basketball players. These camps feature intense workouts guaranteed to improve skills, team play, and practice drills. Campers will receive attention from ECU head coach Heather Macy, as well as her staff and players.
