Elite baseball coming to Yadkin County

YADKINVILLE — Two well-established travel teams are looking to add up to two additional players that can contribute to an already successful organization. Practices will be held at the Yadkin County Park and tournaments will be played in the Triad and Foothills areas. 10U players must remain 10 or under through May 1, 2018, while 12 U players must remain 12 or under through May 1, 2018. East Wilkes tennis camp

RONDA — Coach Aaron Simmons, along with current and former East Wilkes tennis players, will be holding tennis clinics for rising kindergarten through ninth-grade students beginning June 20 and continuing through July 27. Clinics for rising kindergarten students through rising third-graders will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Clinics for rising fourth-graders through rising ninth-graders will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There will be no clinic on July 4. The cost of each clinic is $5 and no advanced registration is needed. Contact Aaron Simmons at 336-927-7391 for any questions.

East Wilkes boys basketball camp

RONDA — East Wilkes will be conducting its annual boy’s basketball camp for rising third- through eighth-graders on July 10-12 from 9 a.m. to noon at East Wilkes High School. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. each morning and the cost of the camp is $50. Flyers and sign-up forms can be found at all of East Wilkes High School’s feeder schools. Campers will participate in skill development, individual competitions, and team scrimmages. The camp will also feature guest speakers with college or professional basketball experience and prizes for competition winners. SCC to hold volleyball camp

DOBSON — The Surry Community College volleyball team will hold a volleyball camp from July 17-20 at the newly renovated Surry Community College gym on the Dobson campus. The clinic will include two separate sessions. The first sessions, 9 a.m. to noon, is for individuals with less than one year of experience. The second session, 1 to 4 p.m., is for individuals with more than one year of experience. The camp is open to ages 6-16 with a cost of $ 40 ($30 with two or more from the same family) per person and includes a camp T-shirt. Participants may register for the camp by completing a camp brochure at www.surryknights.com Camp registrations will begin at 8:30 a.m. (first session) and 12:30 p.m. (second session). Starmount youth football coaches clinic

BOONVILLE — Starmount will be hosting its annual Starmount youth football coaches clinic on July 23 at 6 p.m. in the library at Starmount High. All youth coaches that work with Boonville, Jonesville, or West Yadkin youth football are invited to attend. Many topics concerning youth football will be discussed with clinic talks given by Starmount coaches. Refreshments will be provided. BOONVILLE — Starmount will be hosting its annual youth football camp for kindergarten through sixth-graders on July 24 and July 25. The cost will be $10 and all campers will have a chance to receive a door prize. It will be held on the practice field to the left of the school from 6 to 8 p.m. Park in front of the school. Starmount football practice begins in July

BOONVILLE — Starmount football will begin practice on July 31 with a team meeting at 5:30 p.m. with practice to follow from 6 to 8:15 p.m. Athletes must have a current physical turned in before they are allowed to practice. For questions, call Coach Johnson at 336-468-8686 or 336-469-0372.

Summer Skills soccer camp scheduled

EAST BEND — The Summer Skills soccer camp is scheduled for Aug. 7-10 from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the Forbush High School soccer field. The cost of the camp is $50. The camp is available for youth soccer players ranging in ages 7 to 13 years old. Forbush men’s soccer coach Seth Davis is the lead instructor for the camp, along with other Forbush High School staff and players. Each camper will receive a soccer ball and T-shirt.
