The North Carolina High School Athletic Association has released the final 2017 playoff brackets for soccer, softball and baseball. The first round starts on Tuesday night, and will conclude on Wednesday.
In the 1A brackets, Elkin (14-7-0) grabbed a No. 6 seed and hosted No. 29 North Stokes (2-17-0) on Tuesday night. Results were not available by press deadline.
No. 14 Starmount (13-6-1) will host No. 20 Swain County (7-8) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. No. 19 East Wilkes (8-9-0) will face off against No. 18 Mount Airy (14-7-1) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. Mount Airy will host due to a higher Regional seeding.
On the 2A side of things, Forbush (17-4-1) earned a No. 5 seed and will host No. 28-seeded Brevard (8-12-0) at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
For the 1A brackets, No. 28 Elkin (6-10) will travel to No. 5 Roxboro Community (14-4), while No. 7 Starmount (10-8) will host No. 23 Swain County (9-8).
No. 22 East Wilkes (11-9) traveled to No. 9 West Montgomery (12-4) on Tuesday. Results were not available by press deadline.
In 2A play, the Forbush Falcons (18-1) grabbed a No. 3 seed and will host No. 32 Chase (9-11) at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
After an eventful end to the season, East Wilkes (5-16) earned a spot in the 1A playoffs. The Cardinals are earned a No. 8 seed and will host No. 25 Bishop McGuinness (10-11) in the first round on Tuesday night. Results were not available by press deadline.
In the 2A brackets, Forbush (19-3) came away with a No. 1 seed and will host No. 32 Madison (9-13) at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
