MVAC and WPAC golf award recipients

As the 2017 golf regular season has come to a close, the Mountain Valley and Western Piedmont athletic conference awarded their All-Conference and Honorable Mention players.


The Forbush Falcons golf team placed second in the WPAC tournament last week at Cedarbrook County Club. The team had a successful regular season and will move on to the Regional tournament.

Wilkes Central came away with the regular season championship, and the MVAC tournament championship. This season, the MVAC had Co-Players of the Year — Chandler Metz (Wilkes Central) and Dylon Wooten (Alleghany). Wooten also was named the Conference Tournament MVP. The Coach of the Year was David Brooks (Wilkes Central).
