Forbush women’s soccer looking to replicate 2016 regular season

EAST BEND — It’s a well-known fact that the Forbush High School women’s soccer team is one of the best teams in the western part of North Carolina. Last season, the Falcons made it back to the NCHSAA 2A State Championship for the fifth time. Although the game didn’t turn out like the Falcons had hoped, the team is back and ready to take another shot at making it to the championship.

Last season, the Falcons ended up with an overall record of 27-1-1 and a conference record of 7-0-1. Six seniors graduated, leaving the Falcons with open positions for new players. While several players graduated, several players also returned for another season.

The Falcons opened up its season with a 6-1 win over Davie on Monday. Forbush will travel to North Davidson on Thursday, and Wilkes Central on Friday. The Falcons will be back in East Bend with a home game against Statesville on March 6. Game times are locations are subject to change.

April 3: Forbush at South Stokes | 5:30 p.m

April 5: Forbush at West Stokes | 5:30 p.m.

April 10: Carver at Forbush | 5:30 p.m.

April 13: Forbush at Croatan | 7 p.m.

April 15: Forbush at Swansboro | Noon

April 17: North Surry at Forbush | 5:30 p.m.

April 19: South Stokes at Forbush | 5:30 p.m.
