Lady Rams advance to 3-0 in MVAC

BOONVILLE — The Starmount softball team defeated Alleghany (7-6) and Ashe County (9-1) last week.

Starmount 7 – Alleghany 6

The Lady Rams beat Alleghany in six and a half innings. The Rams scored two runs in the first inning, four in the third, and one in the fifth. Kayla Vanhoy had four hits and two RBIs for the Rams. Vanhoy pitched 16 first pitch strike, and nine strikeouts.

Winning Pitcher:Kayla Vanhoy 9 strikeouts, went 4-4 at the plate with a triple and 2 RBI’s.

Kendra King: 2-4, 1 RBI.

Ashton Jenkins: 2-2, 2 runs, 2 RBI’s.

Morgan Johnson: 1-2, double, 1 RBI.

Lela Stringer went 3-4, 1 double, 1 run, 3 RBI’s.

Ashton Jenkins had three stolen bases.

SHS is 3-0 in conference, and 3-2 overall. Next game is Friday at Wilkes Central at 5.
