Impact Yadkin making a difference

Many people have probably heard of Impact Yadkin but you might not know what it is. Impact Yadkin is a week-long event where several hundred students from across the county come and stay at Forbush High School.

During the day, they go out early in the morning and work on people’s projects around their houses. The students have jobs that range from roof repair to building decks and wheelchair ramps. The students are not sent out without any help though. Several students are put on a job site with a crew chief to show them what to do. After they are done working for the day they go back to the high school and they have a worship service every night.

You might think that it’s odd that an event like this would have worship services, but Impact Yadkin is a Christian outreach ministry first and foremost. They even have crews that go around the job sites and knock on doors to spread the gospel to the houses around the neighborhood.

None of this would even be possible without the local Forbush High celebrity Chris Hauser. Hauser is the man on the ground when it comes to Impact Yadkin and Forbush High School. He does a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to getting things lined up to have an event like this. Without Chris Hauser, Impact Yadkin would be a lot harder to organize.
