Former Starmount Ram Julius Williams will be playing for a national championship with the semi-pro Carolina Knights.

Williams will suit up with the Knights for the national championship game in Jacksonville, Fla. The 12-0 Knights will be facing the Duval Tigers for the bragging rights for this year's championship.

Before Williams was a Knight, he was a Starmount Ram.

Williams graduated in 2004 from Starmount where he played as a running back and a receiver.

He has been with the Knights since he graduated.

"For me, it's an honor to be part of the Carolina Knights because of the organization's past history," Williams said.

The Knights are no strangers to success.

The team has won two national championships in the last five years, one in 2005 and one in 2008.

Williams will also participate in a combine before the game on Saturday to showcase his skills against other players.

He will also participate in the All-Star game on Sunday, following the championship game.

The Carolina Knights compete against other teams from southeastern United States.

The Knights play their home games West Charlotte high school.
